Why are you doing this?
I am a freelance 3D artist and therefore most of the work that I do is for other people. I set myself the challenge of modelling as many of the craft in the Spacecraft 2000 to 2100 AD book as I could, so I could then 3D print them, mainly just to see if I could. I shared my initial progress on the Terran Trade Authority Facebook page and was humbled to receive some great feedback, which added a great deal of motivation to continue with the project.
Can I get the 3D print files?
At present there are no current plans to release the 3D print files publicly I am afraid, due to various licensing and copyright reasons. This may change in future though as negotiations are ongoing.
Can I buy printed models?
Again, due to licensing and copyright, I am unable to publicly offer printed models for sale. This may change down the line as negotiations are ongoing.
Can I support the project in any way?
I chose to create these models off my own back and I appreciate any support that anyone wishes to provide. I do these in my spare time around other work, so I can’t tie myself down to a specific schedule, therefore I feel it would be unfair to put things behind something like a Patreon paywall.
I will be sharing the progress of the works both on here, on the DeVass facebook page and in the Terran Trade Authority groups on both Facebook and Reddit.
Down the line I may add other ways that the project can be supported but that is it for the moment. Although if you could see your way clear to liking and following the DeVass Shipyards facebook page, and subscribing to the DeVass YouTube channel, that would be grand.
